A Korean Odyssey

A Great New Korean Drama

I love Korean dramas, but – I warn you- they aren’t for everyone. Korean dramas are special, cliché and have their own audience. But for those of you who enjoy them, here’s a fellow fan’s suggestion: A Korean Odyssey. This show premiered on December 23 rd , 2017, as a drama with fantasy, romance and a tiny bit of horror, resembling the popular 2016 series, Goblin. Though these two have a lot in common, A Korean Odyssey has its own twists and is a new drama with a lot of potential.

Here’s a really quick summary: A Korean Odyssey starts off with a little girl, Jin Seon-mi, who can see demons/spirits (sound familiar?) and gets tricked into releasing a powerful demon called the Great Sage. As punishment, the little girl is granted the blood of Sam Jung that attracts all evil spirits using a lotus flower scent, and, now in her thirties, she re-encounters the monster who made it all happen. During her adventure, she helps people deal with the evil aura of demons, and meets a lot of other interesting “people” who work alongside her.

I don’t want to go beyond that, and I apologise for being vague, but I think it’s best you guys watch it yourselves. Though the drama has its own corny scenes, as expected, the costumes are creative and the plot is sure to keep you hooked. The setting is also beautiful with incredible angles meant to make dive into the moment or laugh our asses off. Furthermore, the show stars Lee Seung-gi , Cha Seung-won , Oh Yeon-seo , Lee Hong-gi and Jang Gwang , and is been very highly rated recently.

So for those of you who are fans of Korean drama, I suggest you give this one a shot! Episodes come out subbed on Sunday and Monday so enjoy!
