Ask Alice

With the Munch Box/Tim Horton’s closed and the vending machines non-functional, where can I get food at Abbott after 4:00 PM?

There are plenty of good restaurants in Ste-Anne’s, if you’re willing to walk there. If you’re in the mood for some fast food and a full stomach, Med Pizza (formerly Pizza Bellevue, directly next to the NOVA thrift shops) and Basile (across from Phoenix Bar) provide really good fries and other such goodies. For those in the mood for a sandwich or some coffee, further down Rue Ste-Anne is Café TWIGs. For those who really like ice cream, Ciao Gelato, although expensive, provides excellent ice cream made by the owner himself. Crème de la Crème Creamery, serves the more traditional icy treats.

You could always consider going to some the depanneur across from Crème de la Crème Creamery. It’s open deep into the night and provides all the same things a regular depanneur would, from chips to soft drinks.

Should I drop classes in my first term so I can have more free time?

This is purely up to you and to how you want to plan your educational process. Though the particular needs and wants of every student changes, it’s generally good to keep a healthy courseload. It would be advisable to go see Academic Advising. This is their main purpose and they would be most glad to help you.
