Raise a toast
To the ghosts
Who roam our halls
But never haunt us

The ghosts who leave us
because they want
because they need to
We may not understand
But we must leave them be
We cannot see them
But they are free
To do as they please

Ghosts cause no bodily harm
But they can still hurt
But their presence can be cold
Because they may feel cold inside

Ghosts don’t speak
But they communicate
No words are spoken
But something is said

I’ve been ghosted
Yet I know they are there
I’ve been a ghost
But I’m never really gone
