For the first time in franchise history, the Houston Astros have won the World Series on Wednesday, November 1 against their opponent the Los Angeles Dodgers. This will be written in the history books for sure as the Astros beat the Dodgers by a score of 5-1 in the game 7 final at Dodger Stadium. Astros general manager A.J. Hinch had this to say “They don’t usually have a bad day. I don’t mean a bad performance. I mean a bad attitude or bad approach day” (ESPN).
One player on the Astros roster that helped them win was George Springer. George Springer just won “World Series MVP honors with one of the best individual performances in history. Jose Altuve will probably edge out Aaron Judge as the American League MVP (ESPN). On the opposite end, the L.A dodgers were hoping for title number 6 since the last they won it, was in 1988. The president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman told the Los Angeles Times, “I’m not sure if I’ll ever really get over it”. My dad and I are also baseball fans and we watched games 4 and 5 where the scores were fun to watch. During the two games we watched, we were eager to see who the next batter to hit from both teams.
It would be really fun to see which two teams will play the next series. Even though baseball is a sport I have not played, it would be fun to try it out.
