With the 2015-16 NBA season approaching, here’s a closer look at some of the biggest offseason moves.
Lamarcus Aldridge was the most talked about free agent, after leaving the Portland Trail Blazers. Signing a max contract with the San Antonio Spurs, he’ll join Coach Pop, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginóbili, Tony Parker and Kawhi Leornard in the hopes of making a deep playoff run.
Paul Pierce joined the Los Angeles Clippers in what appears to be his “final season” with his favorite coach, Doc Rivers. Paul Pierce is one reason for the Clippers’ amazing offseason despite losing Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes. Lance Stephenson, Cole Aldrich, Wesley Johnson and Josh Smith are all ready to make their Clippers debut.
D’Angelo Russell was selected 2nd overall by the Los Angeles Lakers after one of the worst seasons in franchise history. The 19-year-old has been praised by teammate Kobe Bryant, who expects him to develop into a star player in the NBA.
DeMarre Carroll joins the Raptors, whose offseason got off to a rough start after losing Lou Williams. However, the team brings in more power and attitude. They hope that Carroll is the key piece to moving the franchise forward.
Damian Lillard signed a max contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, after they lost four starters (LaMarcus Aldridge, Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum and Robin Lopez).
