Cross-Dressing as a School Girl Has All the Benefits

This is my second time ever preparing a complex costume. This year, since my friend and I decided to do Otakuthon together, we coordinated and prepared Punk Schoolgirl costumes. Doc Martens, denim vests and torn shear stockings to go with a pretty traditional schoolgirl uniform. Cute, quick, and fun.

Osheaga

For those of us who live in Montreal, the amount of tourism can seem like a bit of a mystery. We don’t have warm, shiny beaches. We don’t have great prices or shopping opportunities. There’s no food here that’s any less authentic anywhere else. The weather is nothing special, and the people aren’t particularly nice. So why, in spite of all this, is Montreal a major tourist spot for summer trips?

Vans Warped Tour 2014

After a year without a Montreal stop, the 2014 edition of the Vans Warped Tour included a Montreal date, and I was lucky enough to have the chance to attend. I had never been to Warped Tour before, but I really enjoyed the overall layout of the event, as it was so different from the Heavy Montreal set up I’ve become used to. Warped Tour really is an event that offers something for everyone.

Heavy Montreal 2014

The weekend of the 9th and 10th of August marked the 6th edition of the Heavy Montréal festival (formerly known as Heavy MTL) at Parc Jean-Drapeau. From Game of Thrones marathons to nights spent watching super moons and meteor showers, there were plenty of reasons to stay up late. Now that we’re back at school, it is important to prioritise sleep as much as study and social time.

Gaza Conflict Rages On

Ever since the ceasefire of the Six Days War in 1967, one small strip of land in the Middle East has been the cause of much negotiation, strife and struggle: the city of Gaza and the large suburban area around it. In the last few months, tensions ran high once again as a prolonged artillery bombardment from Israeli forces began once again.
