SUJAC UPDATE

The last few weeks have been quite eventful around the college, to say the least.

Club day went off without a hitch just before Valentine’s Day. While every club attending the event had amazing booths, Smash Club really took the cake this year with theirs. Dozens of students were listening to them and playing Smash (the best game to ever grace the Switch).

SUJAC held its first General Assembly of the year in the Agora on the 24th. The Executives opened up the assembly by presenting the different orientations the college was considering for the upcoming strategic plan and encouraged students to make their voices heard and take part in the vote on omnivox. Afterwards, they asked students what they thought about the College and what SUJAC could do to help them out. Many good points were brought up that will be food for thought in the future. SUJAC hopes to make this a monthly occurrence in the future.

SUJAC would like to bring awareness to the school strike for the planet that will take place from the 30 of March to 3 April. While classes definitely not be cancelled, students are encouraged to take part in raising awareness and pressuring the College to adopt more green measures. ECOJAC is currently planning a series of demonstrations that will take place over that entire week. As you may know, there is a lack of composting on campus and supporting this student-lead movement would be a great way of actualizing this wish.

We hope everyone enjoys their March Break and hasn’t been drowned in homework by their professors!
