the city was silent
the day the sun
whispered her goodbye
it is not often
they want to hear her
she had been silent for long
in her final moments
she wanted to scream
shout
make them listen
but she did not have to
she cleared her throat
from eons of silence
and we all stopped
a hush
to listen
we miss the sun but now
we know how lucky
we were
we thought she helped us see
but she blinded us
from the horrors that
lay beyond her realm
