Club Spotlight: OAC
The Winners of Best Booth at Club Day
by Jerad McIntyre
You might be wondering, what is the OAC? OAC stands for Outdoor Adventure Club. It’s the hip new name for the overlord of the outdoorsy clubs we’ve got here at Abbott. The OAC acts as a sort of decentralized government for the Kayak Club, Hiking and Camping Club, Rock Climbing Club, and more to come. The OAC helps students get involved in planning events and getting them into more activities.
If you think any or all of these things sound rad and/or awesome, head down to the Student Activities office in Herzberg and sign up right away. There’s a $10 insurance fee for whichever club you decide to join.
Currently, Kayak Club meets 1:30-3:30 on Fridays, down in the pool. Rock Climbing Club meets from 2:30-4:30 on Thursdays and Fridays. These clubs welcome students at all levels of expertise and are great for beginners and experts alike.
