NBA Season Is Here

A Look at the Upcoming Season

Alex Cole (Sports Editor)

The NBA season is upon us, and, like me, many people think they are experts when it comes to deciding who is going to win the coveted Larry O’Brien Trophy.

The teams to watch in the East are the Indiana Pacers, who seem to always be challenging for a spot in the finals, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers were able to bring Lebron James back to their organization this off season after a four-year stint with the Miami Heat that saw him make the finals all four years, coming away with two championships. The team also acquired former Timberwolves star Kevin Love in a trade that saw the Cavs give up their first overall pick, Andrew Wiggins.

In the West, the Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs will be the two teams to keep an eye on. The Clippers have a
young team that is developing a lot of chemistry and has excelled due to the leadership of all-star point guard Chris Paul. The Spurs, on the other hand, are the reigning champs who are lead by future Hall of Fame’s Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. These two teams have the best chance at finding themselves competing for a spot in the finals. The Clippers’ youth will prove to be the deciding factor in what would prove to be a compelling conference final.

My final prediction is that the Clippers will play the Cavs in a series that will see Lebron James and Kevin Love put on a clinic that wins the series in six games.
