Over the past few years, the Conservative Party of Canada have been leading the polls but ever since Trudeau’s resignation from party head, rumors of Mark Carney leading the Liberal Party, and especially due to the events occurring in the United States. They have lost some ground.
The Liberals have gained 10% ever since January, going from 20.1% to 30.8% while the Conservatives have gone from 44.2% to 40.2%. Pollsters have claimed that if this trend continues, the Conservative party may not gain majority seats in Parliament, leaving the way for another Liberal victory. The NDP, however, has lost some support going from 19.3% to 14.4%.
This trend doesn’t indicate that the Liberals have a sure chance at winning the election yet, as 338Canada Polls Analyst Philippe Fournier said, “Could the Liberals still blow this? Oh, absolutely they could. A bad interview, a stupid comment here or there and then it could revert back. This is very soft support that is returning to the Liberals.”
The race has not been decided yet. Go out and vote!
