JAC Secrets’ Abortion Debate

In the past few weeks, many people have posted secrets about their views on abortion. At some point, I realized people posting comments were actually fighting anonymous submissions on their views. Yes, it’s true that not everyone is pro-abortion, and that’s completely fine.
I also noticed that some people where even trying to change others’ point of view on the abortion debate. We’re all allowed to have our own opinions because it’s our human right. However, I don’t like seeing negativity expressed towards others’ opinions.
This semester, I was surprised to read more about students’ views on important social issues, and less about who’s hot or not. I am thrilled to see so many young adults thinking about all these important topics. This just shows how serious students have become regarding politics. This will ensure that Canada’s future is in good hands.
We should always remember that everyone’s opinion is important, especially on whether or not there should be limits on women’s right to have an abortion. I have my own views on abortion, like everyone else, but it’s not my business to influence anyone’s decision or to change anyone’s mind. We are all entitled to have our own opinion.
I understand that some have demanded that the admins stop posting submissions on abortion. If you’re wanting to read something funny or lighthearted, then discussions on abortion are the complete opposite of what you’re looking for. Please, let’s be respectful of everyone’s opinion.
