Labour Unrest

Teachers at John Abbott continue to fight against austerity measures impacting education and on public service in general. As part of the mobilization movement, certain teachers were participating in a “grade-in” that was following the principles of a “sit-in” on Thursday November 5th. Teachers gathered to mark student’s work and meet with their students. Following the line of events classes were cancelled on November 16th and 17th for strike purposes.

This leads to the end of classes for the semester to be extended to December 11th and the exams to be until December 22nd.
Depending on the negotiation process with the goverment the teachers will clame or will not the three other strike days.
