Diddy party this, Diddy party that… While he once ruled the music scene with his swagger, Sean Combs, aka Diddy, he now faces a tidal wave of serious allegations.
Allegations and Lawsuits Galore
The drama started when April Lampros filed a lawsuit claiming Diddy assaulted her multiple times between 1995 and the early 2000s. They began romantically seeing each other when she was a college student, and things quickly escalated. Lampros alleged that the rapper “love-bombed” her before things became violent. She also claims to have learned years later that Diddy had secretly recorded their intimate moments.
After a 6-month investigation, Rolling Stone interviewed over 50 people who described him as a “serial predator.” There were also claims of harassment and threats, including an incident where he allegedly assaulted a girlfriend at Howard University.
Cassie and Diddy
Diddy and Cassie Ventura linked together in 2007 and broke up in 2018. In November 2022, she filed her lawsuit against him, accusing him of sex trafficking and abuse. She detailed a relationship filled with intimidation. Following her lead, other women, including Joi Dickerson-Neal and Dawn Richard, have made their own allegations.
Dawn Richard’s Disturbing Revelations
Former member of Danity Kane, Richard added her input, alleging the rapper trapped her in a locked car. She claimed Diddy manipulated her and her lawsuit echoed Cassie’s, reinforcing the narrative that Diddy has long had toxic control over his artists.
Charges after Charges
Diddy was arrested on September 17th, 2023, facing serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. The hits kept coming when Thalia Graves became the 11th woman suing him, claiming that he drugged and assaulted her in 2001, even recording the attack. This pattern of behavior is hard to ignore. Additionally, a Texas attorney announced on October 1st that 120 people, including minors – the youngest being nine years old – have accused Diddy of sexual abuse. This lawyer asserted that many of them were lured into the music industry, only to suffer traumatic events. The unsealed indictments also reveal that Diddy reportedly hosted drug-fuelled sex parties at his residences, referred to as “freak offs”, coercing people into recorded freaky encounters. Disturbingly, some women required IV fluids to recover. The investigation also uncovered weird treasures, including weapons, narcotics, and over a thousand bottles of baby oil.
His next court appearance is set for October 9th where his lawyer will appeal the ruling once more. He is currently being held at the Special Housing Unit in the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn.
