Peeling

This season will be the peeling
Of the fruit
And of the skin
As the second skin ripens
Ready
Rough
The peeling of layers
They will fall to the ground
And decompose like fallen leaves
Like lives before
The peeling of our eyes for new eyes
Let us see ourselves and each other
In the ugly reality
The truth
Of bone
Of flesh
Revealing the center of the body
The soul will stretch out
Touching everything
Feeling everything
There will be nothing left
But essence
