Equal Machinery

You were the jack of all trades
I was the master of yours
Equal machinery right down to the bone
We swam in a river thicker than blood
But now there’s something in the water
And the gears are all shot
You were the shape of my outline
But now the wind blows me away
It’s true that twin flames burn brighter
And neither one has come to play
With scorching skin, and blazing sin
The lies water my grave
We were spread too thin
A curse that only time could break
It did it well
But took us both
To the end of our days
