SUJAC Update

Hey Islanders!

March has been a month full of fun events, most notably Multicultural Week, in which numerous JAC students were able to showcase their amazing cultures and pride! To name a few highlights, the week was packed with delicious food from around the world, beautiful booths, and tons of dancing. John Abbott’s biggest party of the year was truly a major success!

Thanks to everyone’s incredibly generous donations, John Abbott’s Loonie Line raised $36,696 for the Student Assistance Fund! On March 15, the Herzberg main floor hallway was lined with loonies on double-sided tape in recognition of this awesome fundraiser. Thank you again to Pfizer Canada for matching donations up to $10,000.

The SUJAC Executive Election period is now underway and there are six (6) positions available, so if you are interested in becoming involved, pick up your Executive Nomination Form in the SUJAC Office (P-101) and start collecting 50 signatures! The submission deadline for Nominations is Friday, March 31 (4 pm at the latest).

Congratulations to SUJAC Congress member and Club Leader Gracie Diabo on being named a 2023 Loran Scholar! We are so excited to see all of the amazing things you will surely accomplish in the future!

Watch out on the Portal for De-Stress Fest, which is quickly approaching on Wednesday and Thursday, April 19 and 20. During an especially stressful time of the semester, it is important to remember to take care of your own mental health and well-being, so don’t forget to pop by!
