The BEST Pokémon game Nintendo doesn’t want you to play

If, like millions of children born in the last 30 years, you have seen the Pokémon anime, then you are certainly familiar with Ash Ketchum’s adventures through different regions of the Pokémon world. You would think by now Nintendo would’ve cashed in to the immense appeal of making a game that allows players to seamlessly travel like in the anime right? Well… they still haven’t. And despite Pokémon being the number one media franchise of all time with millions of fans in the entire world, the online aspect of their games is rather disappointing. Most importantly, no game to this day allows you to do the literal motto of the Pokémon series: catch’em all.

Now what if I told you there is a game, not made by Nintendo, that has all these things and much, much more? What if I told you you could have this game right now, in your phone or computer, FOR FREE? This game is very real. Its name: PokéMMO. A massive multiplayer online game made by independent fans in 2012 that has since captured the hearts of hundreds of thousands of players lucky enough to know of its existence. The game currently has 4 regions: Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova with a fifth one, Johto, to be added in the coming months. The game uses information from Nintendo ROMs (that you must absolutely have previously acquired through legal means of course) to recreate the magic of some of the most seminal titles in the franchise. If you want to try it out, head over to pokemmo.com and get your game on!
